3 Things to Know About The Facebook Algorithm
Facebook put a lot of time and effort into what it thinks people want to see with the Facebook Algorithm.
The path has not always been clear. There were twists and turns, push back and outcry, but Facebook’s audience, and in particular its business audience, continues to grow. Obviously, the minds behind the world’s largest social media network know what they are doing. So why aren’t they pushing your finely crafted posts to ALL of your fans? The Algorithm.
The Facebook Algorithm can seem like a giant obstacle between you and some members of your audience, but there are many ways to work with the program. Let’s look at a few things you should keep in mind.
Major Determining Factors
1) The main thing to remember is that Facebook is thinking of your fans. They want users to see posts that interest them, that they will interact with– not just posts they read over and keep scrolling.
2)The Algorithm makes you think “engagement.” Considering how important engagement is to all parts of marketing and branding, Facebook is actually training you. They are coaching you to put some thought into who your audience is and what they want to see. The more thoughtful your post, the more reward for your effort.
Plus, Facebook WANTS you to succeed. The more engagement for you means more people on their platform. They give you an ingenuous tool right there on your company page, the insights tab. If you’ve never opened it, you should, right now.
3) Facebook is breaking down what they think you should know to make better posts and boosts your numbers. They give you information based on how their algorithm works, you’d be a fool not to take full advantage.
