‘Tis the Season of Partnerships
Making Holiday Partnerships Last Year-Round
The holidays are here and your inbox will soon be bombarded with invites. Not only is this the season of giving, it’s also the season of fundraising and event planning. This year’s big events have been planned months in advance; if your business is looking to get in on the action you may want to consider a partnership or sponsorship in the coming weeks. After reading this post, you’ll probably want to plan your own holiday-related event next year.
Hosting events is a wonderful way to showcase your brand and build community partnerships. Your brand can make a mark on your community by forming partnerships with non-profit organizations in need of help. This will not only make a worthwhile contribution to the community, but you will also allow the community to better connect with your brand.
The most successful brand partnerships come from rallying behind a common cause, and Christmas is ripe with causes. Coats-for-Kids and Toys-for-Tots are very popular and don’t require a ton of planning, but this is the time of year where you, your partners, and sponsors can get pretty fancy. Consider a gala or ball, maybe a concert or outdoor event but rally behind a cause to get people interested. Another noteworthy reason to choose a cause you believe in is that it gives you a good opportunity to take a hard look at what kind of community members you want to be.
Aligning your brand with a local cause or local company should be deliberate and thoughtful, ensuring that your mission and philosophies are always in line. Be sure to set a goal from the start, making sure that expectations are established, and a clear understanding of what you are trying to achieve is addressed. If the right holiday partnership is cultivated, a long lasting friendship can spring from a seasonal situation. Establishing community partnerships could mean having your brand affiliated with many events throughout the year.
The holiday season is the perfect time to wet your feet in event planning and partnerships. When you are active in your local community, you improve your brand, how it is viewed, and learn to take pride in what you’ve created.
