Brand Builders Part 16: Who is Your Focus – Target Audience?
One of the most important aspects of building your brand is having true focus. Now, I’m sure you’re thinking, I’m focused. I’m focused on this business, I’m focused on my customers, I’m focused on my employees, I’m focused on making sales and focused on our growth. That’s a lot of things to focus on.
When I talk about focus, I specifically mean your customers, because here’s the thing; when you look at the array of clients that you have and all of the potential business that you could be doing, it’s easy to get pulled into too many directions. Your best bet is to be as focused and targeted on your audience as possible. Now, you’re probably going to have a number of different target audiences. And that’s okay. I want you to isolate the one that’s most likely to buy. That low hanging fruit.
They’re already familiar with you, they already like you. They have a very clear need: a problem you solve. They’re geographically close to you, whatever it might be, that puts them in the hot spot as being the best audience to focus on, go all in on them. You want to have a very specific, clearly defined target audience, because then the rest of building your strategic marketing plan goes so much better. It’s so much easier to build a brand with somebody when you know exactly who you’re talking to. I mean, think about it. Right now, as I’m talking to you, I wonder, do you have clients? Do you have customers? Do you have patience? I don’t know. So, the more targeted and specific I can be, the more you’re going to hear your challenges in my message, the more relatable this is going to be to you.
So, trust me, you want to be as focused as possible. And by focus, I mean, you want to know their demographics inside and out. You want to know their psychographics clear as day. But you also want to know their personality profiles. What kind of people are they? So, you know exactly how to interact with them in a way that’s going to make them most comfortable. The more you can be targeted and focused, the more successful you’re going to be, the faster you’re going to be able to build that brand. And the easier it’s going to be to make your sales goals. You want to grow your business and be more profitable? Being focused is a big way to make sure that you’re successful. This is how you’re going to build a better brand.
